The AI Control Gap Report

AI has accelerated how we build, but most teams are flying blind in production. This report reveals why runtime control is becoming essential.

What happens after code ships?
AI-powered development has changed the speed of software creation, but it hasn’t changed how most teams manage risk in production. Code is being written faster than ever, but teams are still rolling back daily, firefighting weekly, and deploying without visibility into how releases will perform, leading to a lack of confidence.
We partnered with UserEvidence to survey 767 engineering and DevOps professionals to understand how teams are coping and what the most successful teams are doing differently.
The results reveal a growing Control Gap:
A disconnect between how quickly we generate code and how safely we can deploy it.
What we found
of teams say AI has increased development velocity.
are now more cautious about pushing to production.
still roll back or hotfix at least weekly.
knowingly shipped changes with unresolved risk.
spend more than 25% of their time on incident resolution.
Only 15% of teams deploy daily and keep incidents monthly or less.
LaunchDarkly users are 2.2x more likely to hit this sweet spot.
