- Sign-in through Vercel. Use Open in LaunchDarkly at any time to access the full application. To learn more, read Sign in to LaunchDarkly from Vercel.
Install the integration
Installing from the Vercel Marketplace gives you a LaunchDarkly account, project, and SDK keys connected to your Vercel project without leaving Vercel. To install from the Vercel Marketplace:- Navigate to the Vercel Marketplace and find the LaunchDarkly listing in the Flags category.
- Click Install.
-
Choose whether to create a new account or link an existing one:
- To create a new account, follow the prompts to provision a project automatically.
- To link an existing account, select it during installation instead of creating a new one. Your existing projects, flags, and SDK keys remain as they are.
- Complete installation. Your Vercel project now has the SDK key and client-side ID for each environment available as environment variables.
Sign in to LaunchDarkly from Vercel
After you install the integration, you sign in to LaunchDarkly from the Vercel UI instead of from the LaunchDarkly sign in page. Vercel sends LaunchDarkly a signed authentication token that identifies you and the LaunchDarkly account linked to your installation. To sign in to LaunchDarkly from Vercel:- Navigate to your LaunchDarkly installation in the Vercel UI.
- Click Open in LaunchDarkly. Vercel redirects you to LaunchDarkly with a signed authentication token, and LaunchDarkly validates the token and signs you in to the account linked to your installation.
How Vercel sign-in works
When you open LaunchDarkly from Vercel, Vercel sends LaunchDarkly a signed JSON Web Token (JWT). LaunchDarkly validates the token against Vercel’s public keys to confirm your identity. The token includes your Vercel user information and an installation identifier. LaunchDarkly uses the installation identifier to determine which LaunchDarkly account your Vercel installation is linked to. If your email address belongs to more than one LaunchDarkly account, LaunchDarkly signs you in to the account that matches the installation.Sync flags and projects
Syncing flags and projects to Vercel lets your team view what exists in LaunchDarkly without switching tools. Flags and projects created through this integration sync back to Vercel automatically.Sync targeting to Vercel Global Config
Syncing flag targeting to Vercel Global Config lets your flags evaluate in Vercel Functions without a network call back to LaunchDarkly. You can avoid adding a runtime dependency on a call to LaunchDarkly for every flag evaluation. This feature requires the Vercel SDKYou must install and configure the Vercel SDK to evaluate flags in Vercel Functions. To learn more, read Vercel SDK reference.
