This topic explains how to create scheduled segment changes to take effect at a date in the future.

Create scheduled segment changes

To schedule a set of segment changes:
  1. In the left sidebar, click Segments.
  2. Click the name of the segment you want to schedule a change for. The targeting page appears.
  3. Make the changes you want to the segment’s targeting.
  4. Click Save changes. The “Save changes” dialog appears.
  5. Click the calendar icon to schedule the change.
  6. Select a date, time, and timezone for the change.
  7. (Optional) Enter a comment that describes the change.
  8. Click Schedule changes. If your environment requires approvals, select one or more reviewers and click Request approval instead.
If you choose a date and time that has already passed, LaunchDarkly applies the change immediately. You can schedule more than one change for the same segment. Each scheduled change runs at its own date and time. LaunchDarkly does not check scheduled segment changes for conflicts with each other or with changes made after you schedule. If the segment changes between when you schedule a change and when the change runs, the scheduled change may not apply as expected. Review a segment’s scheduled changes before you edit it. To learn how, read View scheduled segment changes.

Create scheduled segment changes that require approvals

If your environment requires approvals for segment changes, a scheduled segment change goes through the same approval flow as any other segment change. To stop a change before it is approved, decline the approval request. To learn more, read Reviewing approval requests.
