LaunchDarkly now integrates with AWS PrivateLink featured image

Product integration will help users transfer data while improving security.

We’re excited to announce a new integration with the AWS PrivateLink. This integration allows the mutual customers of LaunchDarkly and AWS to lower data transfer costs and also improve security by keeping their traffic in the AWS network.

If you use one of the LaunchDarkly data-intensive product offerings (Experimentation, Release Guardian, or Migration Assistant), you’ll probably already know that this type of work generates a significant volume of event data that needs to be transferred to LaunchDarkly. However, this data transfer incurs a cost. We wanted to help our customers with a way to mitigate this expense.

The integration works by supplying an endpoint service that you can use to transfer your event data from AWS to LaunchDarkly, enabling you to avoid transferring it via a regular internet connection. Using AWS PrivateLink lets you significantly reduce your egress traffic to your LaunchDarkly events endpoint, and could save you up to 89% of your data transfer costs (compare PrivateLink $0.01/GB to NAT Gateway $0.045/GB plus EC2 data transfer out $0.05/GB). It also lets you enforce stricter egress firewalls, because none of your traffic to LaunchDarkly will traverse the public internet.
