Dreaming Bigger  featured image

Team,

We started LaunchDarkly in 2014 with the belief that software powers the world and that we could empower all teams to make better software. LaunchDarkly created and pioneered the feature management category, has grown to $100M ARR and helped 4,000 customers including Atlassian, IBM and Intuit. The last eight years have been wonderful—from John Kodumal and I working as a two-person team in Oakland to becoming a global company that is steadily rising up the Forbes’ Cloud 100 list. Now it’s time to scale as LaunchDarkly dreams even bigger.

I have decided to hand the baton to a new CEO for the next phase of LaunchDarkly’s journey. As I began the search for our next leader, I was looking for someone who has a track record of delivering high growth at scale, is obsessed with our product and being a customer champion, and can propel us to achieve our greatest potential. I’m proud to share that I know who this leader is.

Today, I welcome Dan Rogers as LaunchDarkly’s CEO. Dan knows what it takes to scale LaunchDarkly into an enduring, world-class software company. He’s led diverse, cross-functional, high performance teams at some of the world’s fastest growing technology companies including Rubrik, ServiceNow, AWS, and Microsoft.

Most recently Dan was president at Rubrik, where he helped them surpass $500M ARR in under nine years, and led their product, marketing and GTM strategy teams. As ServiceNow’s CMO, he was a major driver of their meteoric growth journey to become an iconic SaaS company and the leading digital workflow platform. Dan is both deeply connected with customers and to building innovative software, and is the perfect fit for LaunchDarkly’s journey ahead.

I’m also excited to announce I’m stepping into a new role as Executive Chair of the board. I’ll be focused on Dan’s success and on continuing to build relationships with our customers. I’ll be evangelizing LaunchDarkly to developers, product managers, and engineering leaders around the world.

It’s an exciting time to be a DarkLauncher and a LaunchDarkly customer. Our future has never been brighter, so let’s all dream bigger. Dan says it best—“LaunchDarkly has the opportunity to become the defining software development platform of the 21st century.”
